Nikki Glaser is preparing for her role as host at the 2025 Golden Globe Awards, where she is expected to showcase her characteristic wit to humorously critique celebrities. Nevertheless, in a recent discussion with Yahoo Entertainment, the comedian and actress disclosed that she intends to steer clear of one particular subject during the event—Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni. Although she typically enjoys teasing public figures, Glaser emphasized that she will refrain from mentioning anything pertaining to the two actors in her performance.

Glaser to avoid digs at Lively-Baldoni lawsuit

During the interview, Glaser expressed to the outlet, “The situation involving Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni is currently a highly sensitive topic and even a simple reference to it may place me in a contentious position, despite my intentions to remain neutral.” She further remarked, “I also prefer not to mention his name any further... I regret even being aware of his name, to be frank, so there is no need for me to repeat it.”

Glaser’s remarks follow Lively's December lawsuit against Baldoni, in which she accused him of sexual harassment during the filming of It Ends With Us and alleged that he orchestrated a smear campaign against her. The New York Times was the first to disclose the details of the lawsuit to the public. In response, Baldoni has initiated a $250 million lawsuit against the publication, claiming libel and false-light invasion of privacy.

A representative for the publication informed The Independent that they intend to “vigorously defend against the lawsuit.” They elaborated, "The responsibility of an independent news organization is to pursue the facts wherever they may lead. Our report was conducted with meticulous care and responsibility, based on an extensive review of thousands of original documents, including the text messages and emails that we accurately and comprehensively quoted in the article.”

The representative further stated, “So far, Wayfarer Studios, Mr. Baldoni, the other individuals mentioned in the article, and their representatives have not identified a single error," as reported by The Independent.

Glaser will make no political jokes

In addition to the Lively-Baldoni drama, Glaser stated that she would refrain from making any political jokes during her Golden Globes monologue. She remarked, “People are simply fatigued by the topic, even though it is ever-present,” referring to the inauguration ceremony of Donald Trump on January 20, 2025.

She elaborated, “There will be a subtle reference to it, but it will not be overly forceful. I have consciously decided not to be too aggressive.” She explained that this choice aims to create a relaxed atmosphere for her audience, ensuring they feel at ease throughout the show.
