The discussion commenced when a user on X shared an older article titled “Elon Musk and the Decline of Tesla.” The article's logline stated, “The megalomaniac CEO extracted $48 billion from his shareholders. However, the company's future appears bleak.” In contrast, the user added in their caption, “Wait.... everyone believed Elon Musk was harming the @Tesla brand and that he should refrain from political involvement. Yet, Tesla has surged by 100% since Donald Trump's victory!”

Elon Musk subsequently shared that tweet, utilizing the well-known Jonas Brothers meme, which features Nick and Kevin Jonas turning a table as Joe Jonas enters and exclaims, “Oh, how the tables have turned.” Musk referenced this moment in his caption, stating, “My, how the tables have turned! (laughing with tears emoji).” The conversation continued as Nick reposted Musk's meme, adding another meme of Elon smirking and pointing. Nick captioned it with, “Take us to the year 3000.”

Nick's supporters expressed their discontent upon witnessing his endorsement of Elon, leading many to question whether the Jonas Brothers align with Republican values, accompanied by remarks of disapproval. One tweet stated, "Remove this immediately. This individual is reprehensible, and even if this was intended as a joke, it is not amusing." Another user commented, "I once prayed for your diabetes to be alleviated."

Additionally, another tweet conveyed, "I hope that one day your daughter encounters a man who treats her in the same manner that Elon and his associates treat women. It will be interesting to see how supportive you are in that situation."
