Deepika Padukone embraced motherhood for the first time last year and is understandably filled with inquiries regarding the upbringing of her newborn. She and her husband, Ranveer Singh, welcomed their daughter Dua in September. Although they have chosen not to disclose her face, Deepika frequently shares small insights into her experiences as a new mother.

Dua duties

On Friday, the actor participated in an event organized by Forbes in Abu Dhabi. During the event, the host inquired about the most recent search she made on her phone. After a moment of reflection, Deepika provided a response that many could relate to. “It was certainly a question related to parenting, such as ‘when will my baby stop spitting up’ or something similar,” she remarked. This inquiry is likely to appear in the search histories of many new parents as well.

On mental health

During a recent discussion, Deepika addressed the topic of mental health, expressing her desire for peace of mind above all else. While engaging with students at Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Pariksha Pe Charcha 2025' event on Wednesday, she candidly reflected on a challenging period in her life marked by depression. She described how this condition, although 'invisible,' profoundly affected her, leading to moments of despair and a reluctance to continue living.

The actress, known for her openness regarding anxiety and mental health, recounted the moment she recognized her struggle with depression. 

"After completing school, I transitioned through sports, modelling, and acting, maintaining a relentless pace. In 2014, I experienced a fainting episode. It was only a few days later that I came to understand I was dealing with depression. This condition is not visible; it remains hidden. Many individuals around us may be grappling with anxiety or depression, yet we remain unaware because I appear to be smiling and engaging with everyone. For an extended period, I chose not to confide in anyone, as I was living in Mumbai at that time."

Deepika was last featured in the films Kalki 2898 AD and Singham Again, but there has been no announcement regarding her upcoming projects as of now.
