On the occasion of Allu Arjun's birthday, Sun Pictures made an official announcement regarding his highly anticipated collaboration with Tamil director Atlee. The announcement video generated significant buzz online. However, upon the release of the film's first poster, many internet users noted striking resemblances to the poster of Timothée Chalamet's Dune.

Internet users identify similarities between AA22xA6 and Dune posters  

On Tuesday, Sun Pictures, the film's producer, unveiled a poster on social media, accompanied by the caption, “The mAAss has just begun! 6M+ cumulative views for #AA22xA6. A Magnum Opus from Sun Pictures.” Nevertheless, observant internet users quickly pointed out the likeness between the imagery of AA22xA6 and that of Dune's poster.

An X user posted the Dune poster and accused Atlee of imitation. He remarked, "My brother, the project hasn't even started, and you've already taken inspiration from the Dune poster?" In a subsequent tweet, another user juxtaposed the posters of Dune and Atlee-Allu Arjun's film, stating, "Our country is filled with incredible talent; why resort to copying? And if you must, why be so obvious about it? While the poster is undoubtedly appealing, perhaps they deemed it a worthwhile gamble. Is Allu Arjun-Atlee's poster a replica of Dune?"

A user on X also shared a different poster released by the team, expressing the belief that it was 'inspired' by Interstellar. He commented, "Posters (with laughing and crying emojis) clearly seem to be a blend of Interstellar, Dune, Star Wars, and others. Regardless, if Atlee can execute it well, I’m on board." Criticizing Atlee, another user tweeted, "The first one resembles Interstellar, and the second one looks like Dune. @Atlee_dir, you should feel some shame, da." Another user remarked, "Dune poster? Why not create your own instead of copying?" A further comment stated, “Already resorting to theft? I see." Allu Arjun, Atlee, and the producers have yet to address these comparisons.

The promotional video suggested that the director and actor are preparing for a science fiction action film. In the footage, VFX supervisor James Madigan, recognized for his contributions to movies such as Iron Man 2 and Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, remarked, “I just read the script, and I must say, my mind is still reeling.” Mike Elizalde, the Artistic Director at Spectral Motion, commented, “The script is truly unlike anything I have encountered. It represents the pinnacle of what I aspire to create.” Justin Raleigh, an Academy Award-winning CEO of Fractured FX, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “As I went through it, I became very excited about the myriad of potential creatures and the various character opportunities.”
