Actor Neil Nitin Mukesh has shared insights regarding his distinctive status as a very fair-skinned individual in India. In a recent interview with Hindi Rush, Neil expressed that he has lost out on numerous roles due to his complexion and expressed regret that while other actors have been able to transcend stereotypes, he has not had the same opportunity.

In discussing his fair complexion, Neil remarked, “I acknowledge that in a nation with a population of approximately 1.4 billion, I am indeed distinctive. However, this does not imply that I do not embody the essence of an average individual. The issue is not that I lack effort... Nowadays, we have the capability to alter white skin to appear darker, correct? The advancements in technology and makeup are such that an actor's appearance can be entirely transformed. Therefore, it is essential to also focus on the craft of acting. If you believe in my acting abilities, please provide me with a chance.”

Citing the examples of Saif Ali Khan and Hrithik Roshan, two other actors with fair skin, Neil continued, “Even if the character is that of a gangster or another type, wouldn’t I be suitable for that role? Saif Ali Khan was able to portray Langda Tyagi in Omkara, correct? Hrithik Roshan successfully broke away from the ‘Greek God’ stereotype to take on the role in Super 30, right? They have been able to seize opportunities, while I find myself in a position of having to persistently strive.”

Neil Nitin Mukesh commenced his journey in the film industry as a child artist during the late 1980s, subsequently making his leading role debut in 2007 with the film Johnny Gaddaar. He has appeared in several successful movies, including New York, Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, and Golmaal Again. Most recently, the actor was featured in Hisaab Barabar, alongside R Madhavan and Kirti Kulhari.
