He has conveyed his respect for Saif's courage in safeguarding his family during this alarming event. Additionally, Neil utilized social media to extend his wishes for Saif's swift recovery.

Neil sends his good wishes

On Thursday, Neil utilized X, previously referred to as Twitter, to extend his heartfelt wishes to Saif, who is currently hospitalized due to the recent attack.

"My thoughts and prayers are with Saif sir and his entire family. This is truly unfortunate," Neil expressed on social media.

The actor conveyed his hopes for Saif's swift recovery, stating, "May your courage and devotion to your family bring you healing, strength, and tranquillity. Wishing you a speedy recovery."

Numerous other celebrities, including Parineeti Chopra, Imtiaz Ali, and Hansal Mehta, expressed their well-wishes for the actor on social media. Parineeti shared a message on her Instagram stories, stating, "Get well soon Saif," accompanied by flying pink heart emojis.

Filmmaker Imtiaz Ali posted a photograph of the actor, referring to him as his "brave brother." Director Hansal Mehta also commented on the situation, saying, "It is an unfortunate incident involving Saif. I pray for his swift recovery. However, why are media reports disclosing his residential address?"

What we know about the attack

On Thursday, at approximately 3 am, Saif Ali Khan, aged 54, was assaulted by an intruder who entered his residence. During the attempted burglary, he sustained stab wounds. Following the incident, Saif received surgical treatment at Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai and is currently out of danger. The Mumbai police are investigating the matter, with six teams assigned to apprehend the perpetrator.

As reported by the Mumbai police, the intruder had a confrontation with the actor's maid. When Saif attempted to intervene and calm the situation, he was attacked by the intruder. Initial investigations suggest that the intruder did not forcibly enter the actor's apartment but may have gained access at some point during the night. Saif was initially placed in the ICU but is expected to be transferred to a regular ward within a day.
