Ace fashion designer Manish Malhotra turned producer recently with Stage5 Productions. After announcing two films that are already on floors and nearing completion, he has now announced his third film, titled Ul Jalool Ishq. With this film, the makers have cracked a casting coup with Naseeruddin Shah, Vijay Varma, Fatima Sana Shaikh, and Sharib Hashmi. Vibhu Puri directs the film, with involvement from Gulzar and Vishal Bhardwaj in this project.

Poetic announcement on Instagram

Manish took to his Instagram page and shared a few snaps featuring the whole cast and also the makers. He also captioned it in a poetic way, stating, "Bewakoofiyan, Nadan galtiyan, badi bhool hai ishq; Sach Poochiye toh mere huzoor ul jalool hai ishq! I am so happy to announce Stage5 Production's third film production. A beautiful film, Ul Jalool Ishq, written and directed by Vibhu Puri, starts shooting on January 9 with this supremely talented cast: Naseeruddin Shah, Vijay Varma, Fatima Sana Shaikh, and Sharib Hashmi. It is an honour to work with Gulzar and Vishal Bhardwaj, produced by Dinesh Malhotra."

Manish Malhotra's diverse film productions

Manish is producing another film called Bun Talk, which features veteran actors Zeenat Aman and Shabana Azmi, along with Abhay Deol, and is directed by Faraz Arif Ansari. Moreover, the fashion designer is also backing a film named Train from Chhapraula, which marks the directorial debut of Tisca Chopra and features Sharat Saxena and Radhika Apte.

Earlier, while talking about launching his production house, Manish said in a statement, "Ever since my childhood, there's been a certain calling I've had for clothes, colours, and films. I was fascinated by fabrics, textures, and music and watched every film wide-eyed, longing to be a part of Indian cinema one day. The fascination with clothes grew me to become a costume designer and then to start my label after many years."

In case you missed it, Manish Malhotra is reportedly developing a biopic on the life of the late, great Meena Kumari. Malhotra said in an interview that the much-anticipated project's scripting is already in progress.
