Aliya Fakhri, 43, the sister of Bollywood actress Nargis Fakhri, set on fire a detached garage of a house, which led to the death of her 35-year-old ex-boyfriend Edward Jacobs and Anastasia Ettienne (33), according to a press release by District Attorney Melinda Katz.

The press release also mentioned that a witness heard her voice and found that the building was on fire. "You're all going to die today", Aliya Fakhri yelled at Jacobs after arriving at the garage early morning on November 2. During the incident, Jacobs lived upstairs and was sleeping.

According to prosecutors, Fakhri resorted to arson after Jacobs rejected attempts to reconcile their relationship.

Fakhri faces four counts of first-degree murder, four counts of second-degree murder, and arson charges. Her next court appearance is scheduled for December 9, as per the Queens District Attorney's office.

"This defendant maliciously ended the lives of two people by setting a fire that trapped a man and woman in a raging inferno," said Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz.

Meanwhile, expressing her disbelief at daughter's involvement in the fatal fire, Aliya's mother told New York Daily News, "I don’t think she would be killing someone. She was a person who was caring for everybody."
