Nargis Fakhri rose to prominence in Bollywood with her performance in the film Rockstar, which featured Ranbir Kapoor. In a recent discussion with Bollywood Hungama, she conveyed her sense of weariness regarding certain aspects of the industry and likened her experience with Bollywood dance to her unfamiliarity with the Hindi language.

After her role in Torbaaz in 2020, Nargis took a break from Bollywood before returning in the film Shiv Shastri Balboa, alongside Anupam Kher and Neena Gupta. Although she refrained from providing specific information, she indicated that she faced an 'unfortunate situation' that delayed her return to the industry. Furthermore, she asserted that the need to navigate male egos within the industry did not dissuade her from continuing her career in Bollywood.

Nargis Fakhri was never comfortable with Bollywood dance routines

Nargis, known for her participation in item songs such as "Dhating Naach" from "Phata Poster Nikhla Hero," discussed the challenges associated with traditional Bollywood dance routines. She remarked, "The vigorous movements, particularly the thrusting and hip movements, are quite demanding. When you are provided with the choreography just forty minutes before filming, and you must learn the steps while also lip-syncing, it requires a level of expertise that I do not possess. Achieving synchronization between my mind and body is quite challenging, especially since my background is in Western dance, which differs significantly from Bollywood styles."

She continued, "Bollywood dance feels as foreign to me as the Hindi language. I am genuinely enjoying the process of learning it. Initially, I found the extensive movements and chest thrusting to be quite challenging, but I adapted over time. The atmosphere on set is bustling with numerous activities, and reflecting on it, I realize that the cultural landscape in Mumbai is remarkably distinct from other places."

Nargis Fakhri is currently involved in the production of her forthcoming film, Housefull 5. This project is directed by Tarun Mansukhani and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala. The ensemble cast features prominent actors including Sonam Bajwa, Akshay Kumar, Jacqueline Fernandez, Riteish Deshmukh, Abhishek Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt, Fardeen Khan, Nana Patekar, Chunky Pandey, Jackie Shroff, Dino Morea. The film is scheduled to be released in theatres later this year.
