Rajamouli wanting to make Mahabharata into a 10-part franchies
Rajamouli has nurtured the aspiration of adapting Mahabharata for cinema for quite a while now. During the publicity for his recent film RRR, the filmmaker indicated that he would put his unique twist on the classic epic and will focus on casting only after completing the script.
When questioned about his long-held ambition to transform Mahabharat, which was a 266-episode series on television, into a film, Rajamouli remarked, “If I reach the stage of creating Mahabharat, it would require me a year solely to peruse the various versions of Mahabharat that exist in the country. Currently, I can only speculate that it would be a 10-part film. "
Will Ram Charan and Jr NTR feature in it?
In a previous conversation with India TV, Ram Charan had inquired of Rajamouli about Mahabharata. “The characters that I create for my Mahabharata will not be identical to what you have witnessed or read before. I will narrate Mahabharata in my distinctive style. The Mahabharata (story) will remain the same, but the characters will be developed further and the relationships among the characters will be elaborated upon,” SS Rajamouli stated.
Addressing whether he will involve Ram Charan and Jr NTR in the film, the director mentioned, “I am aware that individuals have compiled lists of who should play what roles in the project. However, I will determine my characters only after I write my interpretation of Mahabharata. ”
