Veteran actor Nana Patekar is presently engaged in promoting his forthcoming film, Vanvaas. He has collaborated with Gadar 2 director Anil Sharma for this project. During the promotional activities, Nana Patekar addressed the controversy surrounding an incident in which he slapped an individual attempting to take a selfie with him on set in Varanasi. The seasoned actor acknowledged that he was 'wrong' in his response while reflecting on the event.

Controversy on Vanvaas Set: Nana Patekar Admits to Slapping Fan, Calls It 'Wrong'

Nana stated, "An individual approached me, which led to a controversy. I did slap him, and I recognize that it was an error. He approached out of admiration, unaware that we were in the midst of filming. He interrupted the shoot in an attempt to take a selfie. My reaction was inappropriate. However, there is a suitable time and place to convey one's feelings. Had he approached me after I finished filming, I would not have had any objections. Unfortunately, this situation escalated into a significant controversy."

What happened back then?

The dispute arose when the actor, known for his role in Welcome, struck a fan who attempted to take a selfie with him. This incident occurred while he was filming in Varanasi. A man approached the set during a break in shooting and attempted to capture a photograph with the seasoned actor. The fan's actions provoked Nana, leading him to slap the individual. Shortly thereafter, footage of the incident circulated widely on the internet, resulting in significant criticism directed at the actor on social media platforms. Nevertheless, Nana Patekar acknowledged his error and extended an apology to the fan following the video's widespread dissemination. 

Vanvaas features a cast that includes Khushboo Sundar, Utkarsh Sharma, Rajpal Yadav, and Simrat Kaur. The film is scheduled for release on December 20, 2024.
