Nagarjuna on Thandel’s Success: ‘Finally Saw Naga Chaitanya Smile!’

Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi's film Thandel premiered in theatres last week and has achieved significant success at the box office, surpassing ₹ 40 crore within just five days of its release. To celebrate this accomplishment, the filmmakers organized a success meet on Tuesday, which was attended by the entire cast and crew. Nagarjuna Akkineni, who served as the chief guest at the event, expressed his joy for Chaitanya, noting that he had not seen him smile in quite some time.

During the successful meeting, Nagarjuna shared that he had not expected the film's reception on its release day. He mentioned that he was at the office of Prime Minister Narendra Modi that day with his family. He remarked, "It has been a long time since I attended a success meet. I am extremely pleased. I did not have my phone with me, so I was unaware of the public's reaction to Thandel. It was only after the meeting that I turned on my phone and was inundated with calls and messages. That is when I realized the immense support from Akkineni fans, who celebrated this achievement as if it were their own. As I mentioned, it has been quite a while since I participated in a success meet."
‘I am so happy for Chaitanya’
Expressing his happiness for Chaitanya, he added, "I am truly delighted for Chaitanya. It brings me joy to see the smile on his face. He consistently embodied his character throughout the film, excelling in numerous scenes. His performance reminded me of my father's work in many films."
In Thandel, directed by Chandoo Mondeti, Chaitanya portrays a fisherman from Srikakulam. The film also features Sai Pallavi and is produced by Bunny Vasu under Geetha Arts, with Allu Aravind presenting it. The narrative is based on the true story of fishermen who inadvertently drift into Pakistani waters. Although initially scheduled for release during Sankranthi, the film's premiere was postponed to February 7.
