Sanjay Gupta responds to the intense exchange between Boney Kapoor and Naga Vamsi

In a recent excerpt from an interview shared on X, Sanjay Gupta criticized Naga Vamsi for his 'repugnant demeanour,' stating, "Who is this insufferable individual seated beside a senior producer like Boney Ji, belittling him with his pretentious arrogance? Observe his body language and repulsive attitude. Achieving 4/5 hits does not grant him the title of the father of Bollywood, nor will it ever."

He also inquired whether he would exhibit the same demeanour towards esteemed producers such as Allu Aravind, stating, "Would he possess the audacity to confront senior producers like Allu Aravind Sir or Suresh Babu Sir and address them in this manner while gesturing with his fingers? One must understand the importance of RESPECT prior to achieving SUCCESS." He continued, "The foremost lesson we acquired while collaborating with the distinguished Southern Film Producers was the significance of HUMILITY and DISCIPLINE. An overt display of arrogance is the least anticipated behaviour from them."

What transpired between Naga Vamsi and Boney Kapoor?

Vamsi interjected during the roundtable discussion, stating, “One point, sir, must be acknowledged. It may come across as quite severe. We, as South Indians, have transformed the perspective of cinema within Bollywood. Historically, your focus has been primarily on films catering to Bandra and Juhu audiences. The shift became evident with productions like Baahubali, RRR, Animal, and Jawan.”

In response, Boney Kapoor expressed his disagreement, remarking, "In this discussion, it is not feasible to delve into every aspect of our knowledge. We should address the broader picture. When I reference Mughal-E-Azam, Baahubali, and similar films, it is not an indication that I am unaware of other works. I am well-versed in them and can easily list their titles. However, I do not subscribe to the notion that Telugu cinema has imparted lessons to Indian cinema. That concept has always existed. Even the lead actor of Pushpa 2, Allu Arjun, has publicly stated his admiration for Amitabh Bachchan, rather than expressing a preference for NT Rama Rao."
