Director Deva Katta captivated audiences with his debut film, Prasthanam, which starred Sai Kumar and Sharwanand in prominent roles. The political thriller garnered significant acclaim from viewers; however, since that initial success, Deva Katta has not managed to produce another notable hit.

Naga Chaitanya to star in Mayasabha web series

A few Recently, OTTplay reported that SS Rajamouli, known for RRR, has enlisted Deva Katta to write the dialogues for his upcoming project featuring Mahesh Babu. Now, the director is making headlines again with the announcement of his new series, Mayasabha.

In a social media post, Deva Katta revealed that the web series will have a total runtime of 400 minutes, with Season 1 set to premiere in the last quarter of 2025. Naga Chaitanya will take on the lead role in this series.

Naga Chaitanya made his debut in the OTT space with the series Dhootha, directed by Vikram Kumar, who is recognized for his work on Ishq. The Amazon Prime series was a significant success, and production for Season 2 is expected to commence soon.

Deva Katta makes a comeback with Mayasabha

 The announcement from Deva Katta took many by surprise, as few were aware that a web series was in production. Notably, the filming of Mayasabha is nearing completion.

According to the most recent information, Mayasabha is a political crime drama crafted with a strong emphasis on realism. Deva Katta has a reputation for creating compelling narratives in his films, and this quality is anticipated to be a key feature of Mayasabha. The streaming platform for the series remains undisclosed at this time, but the creators are expected to make an official announcement regarding the show shortly.

Following the success of major hits like Manam and Premam, Naga Chaitanya is currently enjoying the acclaim from Thandel and is in the midst of filming a new project with director Karthik Varma Dandu, known for Virupaksha. After completing this film, he plans to return to Mayasabha to finalize the web series.

Deva Katta has previously collaborated closely with Rajamouli on a series related to Baahubali. However, the project was discontinued due to the makers' dissatisfaction with the rough cut. Now, he is back to writing and has several projects lined up, eagerly preparing to move forward with his intense web series, Mayasabha.
