Mushtaq Khan, recognized primarily for his performances in Akshay Kumar's Welcome and Stree 2, was reportedly abducted under the guise of an invitation to an event and subjected to 12 hours of torture. In an interview with India Today Digital, the actor's business partner recounted the distressing experience of his abduction from the Delhi-Meerut highway.

What happened to Mushtaq Khan?

Mushtaq Khan was allegedly invited to an event, with flight tickets provided and an advance payment transferred to his account. Upon his arrival at Delhi airport, he was instructed to enter a vehicle that transported him to the outskirts of Delhi, near Bijnor. Shivam, his business associate, reported that the kidnappers subjected Mushtaq to approximately 12 hours of torture while demanding a ransom of one crore. Additionally, he informed the portal that the kidnappers withdrew over ₹2 lakh from both the actor's and his son's accounts.

How Mushtaq Khan escaped the kidnappers

Shivam stated that upon hearing the Azaan early in the morning, Mushtaq realized a mosque was nearby and quickly fled the area. He subsequently sought assistance from both the public and the police to return home. "Mushtaq and his family were profoundly affected by the incident. Nevertheless, he was determined to file a First Information Report (FIR) once he had gathered himself. Yesterday, I travelled to Bijnor and submitted the official FIR. We possess evidence including the flight ticket, bank statements, and even CCTV footage from near the airport. He is also familiar with the neighbourhood, including the specific house where he was held. I am confident that the police will apprehend the perpetrators soon," Shivam remarked.

In a related incident, comedian Sunil Pal recently experienced a similar situation when he was kidnapped while en route to Haridwar for a private event. The kidnappers demanded a ransom of ₹20 lakh but, after negotiations, Sunil was able to secure his release by paying approximately ₹8 lakh.

Mushtaq Khan's business partner expressed concern regarding the parallel experiences of two industry celebrities, stating, "We were unaware of the situation. After Mushtaq returned, we discussed the incident with a few close associates. When Sunil's case gained media attention, we were informed about it. It is alarming that two public figures from our industry have endured such similar experiences. We hope for increased awareness and protection for everyone in the future." Currently, Mushtaq Khan is reported to be in good health and is expected to address the media in the coming days.
