Details of injuries sustained by Saif Ali Khan
Khan sustained six stab wounds, including two severe injuries on his back—one perilously near his spine—and a minor lesion on his neck. The incident occurred at approximately 2:30 AM while Khan, his wife Kareena Kapoor Khan, and other family members were asleep.
According to officials, a burglar attacked Khan with a knife in his apartment located in the Bandra area of Mumbai early Thursday morning. Following the assault, Khan required surgical intervention at the hospital.

An unknown person allegedly stormed into Khan's house and grew violent with the actor, according to a police officer. Several members of Khan's family were present at the time of the incident. Khan was taken to Lilavati Hospital after sustaining injuries from the knife attack; his condition is said to be stable.

A senior police official, who preferred to remain unnamed, refrained from providing further details when questioned about the possibility of a robbery being involved in the incident, indicating that an investigation is currently underway. The Bandra police initiated their inquiry promptly after receiving the report and arriving at the location.
As more residents of the house began to stir, the suspect reportedly fled the scene of the stabbing. The police have launched a manhunt to capture the individual responsible for the attack.
Task forces deployed for investigation
In their efforts to identify the suspect, law enforcement has formed multiple task forces and initiated the process of submitting a First Information Report. Officer Daya Nayak, along with other members of the Mumbai Crime Branch, was observed en route to the actor's residence. Additionally, the Mumbai Police are conducting an investigation into the matter. According to a report by the, the Mumbai Police have detained several individuals.
According to sources from Lilavati Hospital, the stab wound did not affect his spine, and he received ten sutures to close the injury. Fortunately, the stabs did not penetrate any vital organs. It appears that he was attempting to defend himself during a robbery when the knife assault took place. In total, he sustained four wounds: two classified as serious, two as moderate, and two as superficial.
