Veteran actor Mukesh Khanna has once again captured public attention. This time, he has ignited controversy with his remarks regarding Ranbir Kapoor. In a recent interview, Khanna was questioned about Kapoor's portrayal of Lord Ram in Nitesh Tiwari's adaptation of Ramayana. Mukesh Khanna comments on Ranbir Kapoor's portrayal of Lord Ram.
In a recent interview with Mid-Day, Mukesh Khanna appeared reluctant to express his views on Ranbir's portrayal of Lord Ram in the Ramayana. The veteran actor chose to withhold his opinions, fearing that he might be criticized for commenting on various subjects and individuals.
I do not intend to be impolite; rather, I express my thoughts candidly. When a new adaptation of the Ramayana is produced, comparisons to Arun Govil are unavoidable. His portrayal of the character has set a benchmark of excellence. It is essential that anyone portraying Ram truly embodies the essence of the character; they must not resemble Raavan. If an actor leads a life characterized by lewd behaviour, it will inevitably reflect in their performance, Mukesh stated.
The seasoned actor emphasized that those portraying Lord Ram should refrain from engaging in partying or drinking. He also noted that Prabhas, despite his significant stardom, was not embraced by the audience in the role of Lord Ram. "The current actor portraying Ram is a representative of the Kapoor family legacy. He is a talented performer… However, I will assess his appearance, and he must convincingly resemble Ram," he remarked.
