Actor Mukesh Khanna has vehemently criticized YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia for making inappropriate remarks during his participation in Samay Raina's show, India's Got Latent. Khanna described the comments as a grave offense that should not be dismissed lightly.
Mukesh Khanna enraged
In a display of his indignation, Mukesh Khanna took to X, previously known as Twitter, on Tuesday to voice his concerns and denounce Ranveer's statements.
Reflecting on the controversy, Mukesh stated, “It is unfortunate that a prominent YouTuber like Ranveer Allahbadia made a reprehensible comment on a program titled India’s Got Latent, which involved a topic related to parents and sexual matters. This has provoked outrage across the nation. It highlights the excessive freedom granted to the youth in our country, allowing them to misuse the concept of Freedom of Expression. This is not an isolated incident; the boundaries have been crossed repeatedly. Such behavior constitutes a serious offense and should not be overlooked. Those who transgress should face severe penalties to deter others from making similarly obscene and irresponsible remarks."
The Shaktimaan actor further proposed that public humiliation should serve as a form of punishment in such instances. He remarked, “I have a suggestion for dealing with such individuals – blacken their faces, make them ride a donkey, and parade them through the streets. This will ensure that no one dares to repeat such actions in the future."
What Ranveer Allahbadia said
Ranveer Allahbadia's comments have drawn significant criticism following his recent role as a judge on Samay Raina's India's Got Latent. During the show, he posed a shocking question to a contestant: "Would you rather watch your parents have sex every day for the rest of your life or join in once and stop it forever?"
The audience and viewers were left stunned by the explicit and insensitive nature of this inquiry, which has since faced widespread condemnation. Many have expressed their outrage and disappointment on social media, criticizing the remark for its crudeness and lack of sensitivity.
In response to the criticism he received, Ranveer released a video apology. He stated, “I regret my remarks made on India’s Got Latent. I apologize. My comment was inappropriate and lacked humor. Comedy is not my strength. I am here solely to express my regret. Many of you have questioned whether this is how I intend to utilize my platform, and clearly, this is not my intention. I will not provide any context, justification, or explanation regarding the incident. I am simply here to apologize.” Currently, an investigation is underway regarding the situation.
