On Wednesday, a fan account dedicated to Hania Aamir on X gave a shoutout to Mrunal Thakur, saying, "I might be a bit sentimental, but honestly, @mrunal0801 is the top actor of our time. She's one of a kind. I can't think of any other actress in India who matches her versatility (sic)." Since the account had a verified blue tick, Mrunal assumed it was actually Hania complimenting her. She responded with, "Hania, you really brightened my day. Thank you so much, sweetheart!"

The whole situation had the internet buzzing, with a lot of folks saying the actor needs to get a more on-the-ball team for her social media. One user on X pointed out, "That's not the real ID." Another chimed in, "Haha, ma'am, you should've realized this is a parody account, not the real deal." And someone else quipped, "Thanking a parody account? Sounds like it's time to let your PR go."

Mrunal Thakur will be sharing the screen with Adivi Sesh in the new action-drama, Dacoit. Directed by Shaneil Deo, who also teamed up with Sesh to write the screenplay, the film revolves around a furious convict on a mission to get back at his ex-girlfriend for her betrayal. It’s set to hit theaters later this year.
