The conflict between Mohan Babu and Manchu Manoj intensified on Tuesday evening when Manoj attempted to enter Mohan's family residence to see his daughter. Various videos from that evening depict a gradual escalation of tensions, culminating in a physical confrontation that required hospitalization.

The familial dispute between Mohan and Manoj gained momentum on Monday when Mohan filed a police report against Manoj, claiming that he and his wife, Bhuma Mounika, had conspired to take control of his property. Additionally, Mohan released an audio recording in which he alleged that his son was struggling with alcohol addiction. In response, Manoj sought police protection after reportedly being assaulted, necessitating medical attention.

Reporter files case on Mohan Babu

On the evening of December 10, Manoj forcibly opened the gates of Mohan’s residence in Jalpally, asserting that his child was inside. Despite his claims of needing to see his daughter, he was reportedly denied entry. Several journalists were present at the location to report on the ongoing dispute. Shortly after Manoj attempted to enter, security personnel appeared to eject him from the premises. Tensions escalated around 7:50 pm when Mohan allegedly assaulted a journalist.

As detailed in the police FIR obtained by ANI, the complainant stated that Manoj had invited him and other journalists into the house. While they were covering the situation, Mohan aggressively confronted the complainant, seizing their microphone and cell phone, using offensive language, and physically assaulting them. This attack reportedly resulted in a serious head injury for the journalist, leading to considerable bleeding. The journalist subsequently filed a complaint against Mohan at the Pahadi Shareef police station. According to PTI, he received medical attention at Trident Hospital in Shamshabad.

The Film Critics Association and the Telugu Film Journalists Association have denounced Mohan’s alleged assault on the reporter. They have called for Mohan's removal from the Movie Artistes Association (MAA) and for Vishnu Manchu to be dismissed as president.

Mohan Babu hospitalised

Following the incident involving the reporter, which occurred in the presence of law enforcement and his security personnel, Mohan was admitted to the hospital. A health update issued by Continental Hospitals in Hyderabad indicates, “Prominent film figure and former Rajya Sabha member Dr. Manchu Mohan Babu was admitted to the Emergency Department of Continental Hospitals, Gachibowli, Hyderabad, at 8:30 PM on December 10, 2024, presenting with widespread body pain, anxiety, and a prior episode of loss of consciousness.”

The update further elaborates, “He received prompt and essential medical attention from the specialists in the Emergency Department. Upon comprehensive evaluation, he was diagnosed with a blunt injury beneath the left eye, alongside elevated blood pressure, increased heart rate, and significant fluctuations in heart rate.” Mohan remains under medical observation; he was scheduled to report to the Pahadi Shareef police station on Wednesday morning. The attending physicians addressed the media on Wednesday, reaffirming this information.

Manchu Manoj apologises to the media

On Wednesday, Manoj addressed the media and extended an apology on behalf of his father, Mohan. With tears in his eyes, he expressed, “I never anticipated a day like this would arrive. I wish to apologize to the media on behalf of both myself and my father. Please consider me as one of your own and grant me your forgiveness; I am truly sorry. It pains me that you were present to support me during this difficult time. I am distressed by the involvement of my wife’s name in this matter; we have never solicited money or property from anyone. My return home was solely due to my wife's pregnancy, my brother (Vishnu) relocating to Dubai, and my parents living alone. Is it wrong to marry the woman I love?”

Manoj further stated that he wishes to avoid ongoing disputes with his family. “I have repeatedly requested my family to come together and resolve our issues, but they have refused. They are falsely claiming that my mother is hospitalized. In a moment of anger, I called emergency services, yet no one took me to the hospital following the altercation. It was only after calling 108 that assistance arrived. They have tarnished my reputation. I implore them once more to return the CCTV footage they have taken. I am not deceitful; my father is not the person you see today. Someone else is manipulating the situation; he is a god,” he remarked.
