The journey of the serial Mithai ended last year in June. The male lead character Ucchebabu, aka Adrit Roy, is now all set to make his comeback to Bengali television. This time too, he will work with Zee Bangla.  

The new serial Mittir Bari is starting soon on Zee Bangla. Adrit will play the male protagonist there. Srija Dutta, known for Dev’s films Bagha Jatin and Tekka, was supposed to be his female counterpart. But Srija clarified to the media that this speculation was not true, and she was busy with her studies. She was not ready to give time to television amid the pressure of study. 

Parijat Chaudhuri will play the female lead. She played the young Indubala in the series Indubala Bhater Hotel and was praised for her work. Parijat will play Jonaki and Adrit will play Dhruba in Mittir Bari. 

The story revolves around a joint family where Jonaki is the spirited girl. The serial will show that staying together is the key to living happily. Dulal Lahitri and Anuradha Roy will play important roles in Mittir Bari.  

In Mithai, the pair of Adrit and Soumitrisha was massively popular. Can Adrit and Parijat bring back the magic? Only time will tell.
