The star of 12th Fail took to Instagram to convey his intention to take time off to be with his wife and their newborn son. Recently, the actor addressed this misunderstanding and explained the rationale behind his decision to step back.
Vikrant Massey on his acting break post being misunderstood for retirement
During a discussion at the Times Network India Economic Conclave, Vikrant Massey elaborated on his choice to pause his acting career. He expressed a desire to enhance his skills as an actor to ensure he provides value for the audience's time and investment. "Having worked professionally for 21 years, I felt a significant shift after 12th Fail. To provide some context, I shared that post at midnight because I was struggling to sleep," he remarked.
The day following his unexpected announcement, Vikrant's film The Sabarmati Report was screened for Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his cabinet at Parliament. Reflecting on this experience, Vikrant stated, "I never imagined this would occur in my life. I may sound somewhat boastful, but I am being completely sincere. The overwhelming love and reception for the film truly moved me."
Massey further noted that after witnessing the Prime Minister's viewing of his film, he recognized it as an opportune moment to focus on self-improvement as an actor, prompting his decision to take a break. Regarding the confusion surrounding his announcement, he mentioned, “I attempted to clarify my intentions, but the extensive use of English in my post led to misunderstandings, which is why I felt the need to provide further explanation."
