Singer Mika Singh responded to actor Siddharth regarding his recent remarks about the significant crowd gathered in Patna for the promotions of Pushpa 2: The Rule. Mika Singh hits back at Siddharth

Mika shared Siddharth's remarks regarding Pushpa 2 on his Instagram stories, stating, “Hello Siddharth, one positive outcome of your comment is that starting today, people will become somewhat familiar with your name; just consider, I was unaware of what you do until now.”

What did Siddharth say

While promoting his forthcoming film Miss You, which was initially set to compete with Pushpa 2: The Rule but has since been delayed, Siddharth characterized the latter's ability to attract an audience as a mere marketing tactic. During an appearance on YouTuber Madan Gowri’s podcast, he remarked, “It’s all about marketing. Attracting a crowd in India is not particularly challenging. If you bring in a JCB for construction, people will naturally gather. Therefore, drawing a crowd in Bihar is not a significant achievement.”

He further likened the Pushpa 2 event to the tactics employed by political leaders who draw crowds by offering incentives such as biryani and alcohol, asserting, “In India, there is no correlation between the size of a crowd and the quality of the event. If that were true, all political parties would be victorious. In our time, these gatherings were primarily about the promise of biryani and a small amount of alcohol.”

About Pushpa 2: The Rule

Mika is not the only individual to express support for Pushpa 2: The Rule. Recently, following reports that the film had occupied all IMAX screens, thereby hindering the re-release of Interstellar in India, Janhvi Kapoor came to its defence.

She remarked, “Pushpa 2 is also cinema. Why are we so fixated on idolizing the West while disparaging our own productions and hastily deeming them unworthy? The same rooted representation and larger-than-life essence that other nations admire and are captivated by in our cinema is something we ourselves seem to shy away from. It is disheartening.”

Sukumar’s Pushpa 2: The Rule, featuring Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna, and Fahadh Faasil, premiered on December 5, with paid previews on December 4. The film has grossed over ₹1000 crore worldwide within just six days.
