Self-styled critic Kamaal R Khan, known as KRK, frequently ignites controversy with his candid opinions regarding Bollywood films and personalities. His forthright remarks have previously led him into problematic situations. In a recent interview, singer Mika Singh disclosed that comedian Kapil Sharma once visited KRK at his residence, where he caused quite a disturbance. Additionally, rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh escalated the situation by physically pulling KRK's hair. Furthermore, KRK has stated that he "might leave India forever like MF Hussain," asserting that "no law can prevent me from reviewing films."

Mika remembers

In a recent interview with The Lallantop, Mika shared insights into his relationship with KRK, recounting various past experiences.

He stated, “He is like a son to me. He is a truly wonderful individual. At one time, he resided quite near my studio, and I would frequently drop by, sometimes unexpectedly for tea. I called him ‘bhai’ (brother), which helped him understand my quirky personality. We developed a friendship, and he often spoke negatively about different celebrities; some of them would come to me, requesting that I advise him to be more careful with his words, thereby placing me in the position of a mediator.”

Mika also reminisced about a visit from Honey Singh to KRK's home in Dubai. He remarked, “Honey might not remember this now, but KRK had made some comments about him that deeply upset Honey. He confided in me, ‘paaji, he says such things.’ Ayushmann Khurrana and Kapil Sharma were also quite unhappy with KRK. I suggested to Honey that we should go to Dubai and confront him, pretending to be under the influence. ‘He will insult us, but you can deal with him as you wish,’ we were rather tough on him. The next day, KRK told us that we had treated him poorly, and I claimed I had no memory of the incident since we were intoxicated. Apparently, we even pulled at his hair…”

Mika further recounted an episode involving Kapil Sharma that took place around 2012-2013. He noted that Kapil was extremely upset with KRK. Upon learning that Mika lived nearby, Kapil requested his company to KRK’s residence.

Mika explained that Kapil intended to confront KRK physically. They arrived at KRK’s home around 4-5 am, only to discover that he was not present. Mika shared that upon realizing this, Kapil “smashed glasses at his home and created quite a ruckus.”

The KRK controversy

KRK has garnered significant media attention due to his contentious film reviews and tweets, which have often been met with disapproval from both the public and the celebrities he critiques. In 2022, the actor and critic was apprehended by the Malad Police as a result of a tweet he posted in 2020 that targeted Irrfan Khan and Rishi Kapoor. Additionally, Manoj Bajpayee initiated a defamation lawsuit against him in Indore, citing an allegedly offensive tweet directed at him. KRK has also made several remarks regarding Bajpayee and his series, The Family Man Season 2.
