Singer Mika Singh had a tough time collaborating with actress Bipasha Basu on the crime thriller Dangerous. In a recent chat with Pinkvilla, he mentioned that Bipasha was difficult to work with, suggesting that her behavior is why she’s not getting many roles these days.

Mika is calling out Bipasha

Mika stepped into the producer role with the MX Original Dangerous, featuring Bipasha Basu and Karan Singh Grover. This crime thriller hit the screens in 2020.

In a recent interview, the singer reflected on his tough experience working with Bipasha. He initially planned for a smaller film, mainly to highlight his music.

He mentioned, “Why do you think they’re struggling to find work now? God sees everything. I really liked Karan and aimed to produce a low-budget film—around ₹4 crore," he shared.

At that time, Mika couldn’t afford to hire Vikram Bhatt as the director, so he brought him on as a writer and enlisted Bhushan Patel to direct. Things changed when Bipasha expressed her desire to join the project.

“I was thinking about casting another actress, but she insisted on being involved. The shoot was planned in London, and the budget skyrocketed from ₹4 crore to ₹14 crore... The drama caused by Bipasha made me regret diving into production. She was comfortable with her team, and they had to portray a couple with kissing scenes. Out of nowhere, she started throwing fits, saying she wouldn’t do this or that,” Mika added.

He also mentioned that he never missed a payment, but finishing the dubbing was a challenge too. “Someone always had a sore throat. If it was Bipasha feeling unwell one time, it was Karan the next,” he said.

A little bit about the couple

Karan Singh Grover and Bipasha Basu crossed paths while shooting for Alone back in 2015. They tied the knot in 2016 and became parents to a baby girl named Devi in 2022. It's been nearly five years since Bipasha last appeared on screen.
