Michelle Trachtenberg, who gained fame for her role as Georgina Sparks on ‘Gossip Girl,’ has sadly passed away at 39, as reported by the New York Post. Her mother discovered her unresponsive in her New York City apartment at One Columbus Place shortly after 8 a.m. on Wednesday, according to ABC News and police sources. It was noted that Trachtenberg had recently had a liver transplant and might have experienced complications. While her death is thought to be from natural causes, an autopsy is still pending, and there’s no indication of foul play.

Michelle kicked off her acting career at just 3 years old, portraying Nona Mecklenberg in the Nickelodeon show ‘The Adventures of Pete & Pete.’ She later starred as the lead in the 1996 movie ‘Harriet the Spy’ and became well-known for her roles in ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’ and ‘Gossip Girl.’

Last year, after posting a selfie on Instagram, one follower took a jab at her looks, claiming she appeared “sick.” The actress fired back, saying, "How do I look sick? Did you forget to check the calendar? I’m 38, not 14. It’s pretty sad you’d say something like that."

A few hours later, Trachtenberg posted another selfie on Instagram, stating, “I’ve been getting a lot of comments about how I look lately. Just to be clear, I’ve never had plastic surgery, and I’m feeling great. So maybe check yourself, haters.”
