Megyn Kelly Calls Blake Lively's Allegations Against Justin Baldoni

Megyn Kelly Calls Blake Lively's Allegations Against Justin Baldoni "Absurd"

Megyn Kelly didn't hold back when she took aim at Hollywood star Blake Lively on a recent episode of The Megyn Kelly Show. The drama unfolded after a leaked video popped up, featuring Lively and her It Ends With Us co-star Justin Baldoni shooting a montage on set. Kelly zeroed in on Lively's response to the video, which the actress shrugged off as a “nothing burger.”

Kelly brushes off Lively’s accusations

On her show, Kelly fired back, saying, “Over and over, she claims he’s done something, but when you get the whole story, it’s really nothing at all!” according to The New York Post. She added, “She says she’s a MeToo victim. That’s just ridiculous! This person isn’t being truthful. I trust her even less now. Honestly, I don’t believe her at all.”

The videos in question were shared by Baldoni’s lawyer, Bryan Freedman, who also represents Kelly, to The Post to challenge the Gossip Girl star’s claims. The tension between the two actors turned into a major legal showdown when Lively slapped Baldoni with a $250 million lawsuit, accusing him of running a smear campaign against her.

In response, Baldoni countersued Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, for a jaw-dropping $400 million. Things got even messier when she filed a formal complaint with the California Civil Rights Commission and publicly criticized Baldoni in an interview with The New York Times, leading him to sue her for libel.

Kelly supports Baldoni in the ongoing conflict with Lively

Kelly backed Baldoni in the ongoing drama, pointing out that the whole legal mess kicked off because Lively “clearly worked with The New York Times to spill the beans.” She went on to say, “Now that she’s had her moment to go after him and really hurt his reputation… she’s suddenly asking for a total gag order.”

She claimed that the supposed smear campaign led by Baldoni wasn’t what damaged Lively’s image; rather, it was “because she turned out to be not a very nice person.”

Lively’s lawsuit alleges that during a "slow dance scene," Baldoni overstepped when he "leaned in and slowly dragged his lips from her ear down her neck while saying, ‘It smells so good.’" In response, Kelly pointed out that even though the actors weren’t reading from a script, they were still in character for the scene. The leaked footage shows the co-stars dancing, holding hands, and getting cozy for a montage that would be set to music. While they were chatting, there’s no sign they were following a script, and they even mentioned each other’s spouses by name.

Kelly remarked, “Clearly, Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni aren’t just holding hands and getting cozy in front of a bunch of people. She’s being flirtatious with him, and he’s flirting back, but they’re talking about their spouses, and it’s all in good fun.” She added, “She [Lively] laughs and says, ‘Oh, did you get beard on me?’ She doesn’t say, ‘Oh my god, you nuzzled me and said I smell good!’”
