Veteran actress Meena Ganesh, renowned for her contributions to the Malayalam film industry, has died at the age of 81. According to reports, she passed away on Thursday, December 19, at a private hospital located in Palakkad, Kerala. Throughout her career, she appeared in more than 100 Malayalam films.

Senior Malayalam actress Meena Ganesh, renowned for her performances in films such as Karumadikuttan and Nandanam, passed away at the age of 81 on Thursday.

The esteemed actress had been receiving treatment at a hospital in Shoranur, Palakkad, Kerala, following a rise in her blood pressure. Additional reports indicate that she may have experienced a stroke and was undergoing medical care for this condition. Ultimately, Meena Ganesh succumbed to complications related to her advanced age. She passed away at approximately 1:20 am on Thursday, with her death being confirmed by various sources. Her final rites are scheduled to take place in Shoranur at 4 pm on the same day.

Meena Ganesh, a prominent figure in the Malayalam film and television sector, commenced her acting career with the 1976 film Manimuzhakkam. This film, directed by PA Backer, featured a cast that included Harikeshan Thampi, Veeran, Johnson, Sankaradi, Saritha, Urmila, Vani, Cyril P Jacob, Charulatha, Santhakumari, Sreenivasan, and others.

Having initiated her career in the 1970s, the actress primarily made her mark during the 1990s and early 2000s. Her most recent appearance was in the 2016 film Pathirakkattu, and she has also participated in several television serials, including Ramayanam, Calcutta Hospital, Karunyam, Minnukettu, and Aa Amma, among others.
