Harshvardhan Rane and Pakistani actress Mawra Hocane made their notable entries into Bollywood with the romantic drama Sanam Teri Kasam. Released in 2016, the film initially underperformed at the box office. However, following its re-release, it managed to exceed its original earnings within just two days. Mawra has since shared her thoughts on the success of the re-release during an interview with Faridoon Shahryar.

On February 5, Mawra celebrated her marriage in a grand yet intimate ceremony with Pakistani actor Ameer Gilani. Shortly after her wedding, her debut film, Sanam Teri Kasam, was re-released in theaters on February 7. The film outperformed new releases such as Loveyapa, featuring Junaid Khan and Khushi Kapoor, and Himesh Reshammiya's Badass Ravikumar at the box office.

In response to the film's success, Mawra expressed, "Honestly, if it has taken nine years for the film to reach these impressive figures, I believe my husband must be the source of this good fortune. The only significant change during this time has been my marriage. The film has always existed, and all the elements were in place. However, I genuinely feel that the luck associated with my marriage is a contributing factor, especially since the dates align perfectly."

She continued, "It is truly astonishing for me as well, the affection we are receiving. While I am aware of certain aspects, I recognize that I am likely overlooking much more. What I can perceive is incredibly overwhelming, and I can only express my gratitude for it." Additionally, she reflected on how she has consistently received love from India since the release of Sanam Teri Kasam.
