Harshvardhan Rane and Mawra Hocane's film Sanam Teri Kasam returned to theaters in 2025, with its re-release occurring on February 7 of that year. Following its successful run, producer Deepak Mukut announced plans for a sequel, set to debut in 2026. While Harshvardhan is confirmed to reprise his role in the second installment, Mawra's participation remains uncertain. Nevertheless, in a recent interview, she disclosed that the producer had contacted her regarding Sanam Teri Kasam 2.

In her discussion with Mid-Day, Mawra Hocane did not provide a definitive answer about her involvement in Sanam Teri Kasam 2. She stated, "The producer reached out to me for the second part. I haven’t read the script yet; it’s in my inbox. I can’t say whether I’ll participate. However, if they proceed with a sequel, regardless of my involvement, I sincerely hope it achieves great success."

Mawra emphasized that her character, Saru, was a well-developed role, which motivated her to accept the part in the 2016 film. She expressed her belief that female characters in earlier films lacked depth. During the interview, she also shared her excitement about receiving praise from Amitabh Bachchan and Vidya Balan for Sanam Teri Kasam upon its re-release.

"Mr. Bachchan is a legend, and the fact that he watched my film is a feeling I will always treasure. Vidya-ji holds a special place in my heart; she portrayed strong female characters when few others did. At my wedding reception, my husband [Ameer Gilani] informed me that Vidya-ji had complimented me, and I was ecstatic," Mawra recounted.

Regarding her career, Mawra Hocane made her Bollywood debut with Sanam Teri Kasam in 2016. However, she has not appeared in any Hindi films since then due to a ban on Pakistani artists following the Uri attack. Despite this, she has participated in numerous Pakistani television dramas, including Sabaat, Aangan, Daasi, Sammi, and Haasil, among others.
