Matthew Perry, renowned for his role in FRIENDS, passed away on October 28, 2023, reportedly as a result of an accidental overdose. Before his unfortunate demise, he was administered multiple doses of ketamine. A recent documentary titled "Matthew Perry: A Hollywood Tragedy" has disclosed the specific quantity of these lethal doses that played a role in the actor's premature death.

Explosive doc alleges Perry received 27 Ketamine injection

The documentary available on Peacock explores the life of Matthew Perry before his passing. An autopsy conducted on the actor indicated the presence of “high levels of ketamine” in his system, and the documentary asserts that this was a result of him receiving 27 doses of the substance in the final three days of his life.

In the film, Martin Estrada, the former U.S. Attorney for California’s Central District who oversaw the investigation into Perry’s death, alleges that Dr. Salvador Plasencia provided ketamine to an untrained live-in assistant. This assistant subsequently administered the drug to Perry, despite his significant health risks.

“Allegedly, you have Dr. Salvador Plasencia providing ketamine to a live-in assistant who has no medical training whatsoever, and that live-in assistant is administering ketamine to a person whose risk factors are through the roof." (Via PEOPLE).

Allegations of medical negligence and greed

Estrada contends that Dr. Salvador Plasencia disregarded numerous warning signs while persistently administering ketamine to the actor. Despite the evident dangers, it is claimed that Plasencia injected Perry with the substance in unauthorized settings, such as the backseat of a vehicle in a Long Beach parking lot.

Estrada highlighted that these actions are a clear breach of medical protocols. Furthermore, even after Perry exhibited alarming physical symptoms, prosecutors assert that Plasencia did not take appropriate action and continued to provide the drug to the actor's assistant.

Assistant and ‘Ketamine Queen’ linked to Perry’s fatal dose

As Plasencia reportedly withdrew from involvement, Perry’s live-in assistant, Kenneth Iwamasa, assumed responsibility for administering ketamine. The source of the drug was allegedly Jasveen Sangha, referred to as “The Ketamine Queen.”

Court records indicate that between October 24 and 27, Perry received ketamine injections six to eight times each day. On October 28, he was given two doses in the morning. Later that same day, he is said to have requested an additional injection, reportedly telling Iwamasa to “give me a big one” while he was preparing his hot tub. This final injection was ultimately fatal. Upon returning from running errands, Iwamasa discovered Perry unresponsive in the water.

Five individuals have been charged with Perry’s death, with three of them having pleaded guilty:

Dr. Mark Chavez has admitted to conspiracy to distribute ketamine.

Timothy Fleming has acknowledged his involvement in the conspiracy and distribution of ketamine that led to his death.

Kenneth Iwamasa has confessed to conspiracy to distribute ketamine resulting in Perry’s demise.

In addition, Dr. Plasencia is facing several charges, including conspiracy, illegal drug distribution, and falsification of records. He has pleaded not guilty, with his attorney asserting that he was attempting to assist Perry and was unaware of the actor acquiring ketamine from other sources.

Sangha has also been charged, although her attorney has denied the accusations against her.
