Matt James and Rachael Kirkconnell, who met on The Bachelor, have ended their four-year relationship. The 33-year-old took to Instagram on Thursday to share the news through a prayer. In his emotional post, he asked for “peace” as they navigated this tough choice.

James posted a throwback pic of him and Kirkconnell from their first encounter during Season 25 of The Bachelor back in 2020. In the caption, he said, “Father God, grant Rachael and me the strength to heal our broken hearts.”

He continued, “Help us find peace in this decision to part ways, a peace that goes beyond what we can understand. Please shower our friends and family with love and kindness to help us through this. And remind us that our joy comes from you, Lord.”

The former NCAA football player tagged the 28-year-old in the photo and disabled comments on the post. As for Kirkconnell, she hasn’t spoken out about the breakup yet. Her most recent Instagram post was a heartfelt birthday tribute to James.

The video posted in December showcases a collection of their adorable moments together. The internet personality captioned it, “Wishing the happiest birthday to my best friend, my partner in crime, my sous chef, the guy who has my entire heart.”

“You fill my life (and my belly) with so much joy and laughter, and I’m super grateful to be dancing through life with you. Thanks for all the endless love, support, kisses, and cuddles. Here’s to many more adventures—happy birthday, my pumpkin ♡,” Kirkconnell wrote. Since then, she hasn’t put up any new posts on her account, where she has 998k followers.
