Unni Mukundan's action thriller, Marco, premiered on SonyLiv on the eve of Valentine's Day and presents a narrative steeped in a quest for vengeance marked by graphic violence. The storyline centers on the protagonist, Marco, who embarks on a mission to avenge the death of his beloved Victor (Ishaan Shoukath). In addition to seeking retribution for Victor's murder, Marco faces the critical responsibility of protecting his unborn child. Did Unni Mukundan's Marco succeed in safeguarding Victor's baby? Continue reading to discover the outcome, with a warning for potential spoilers.

Marco plot

Marco is the adopted son of the Adattu family, and the foster brother of George (Siddique) and Victor, who is blind. After his friend Waseem gets killed, Victor identifies the culprits but he too meets with a gory end. Marco goes on a bloody rampage as he finds out that the culprits are Tony Issac (Jagadish) and his son Russell (Abhimanyu Shammi Thilakan). After learning that Victor’s girlfriend Isha is pregnant with his child, Marco and George vow to safeguard the unborn baby at any cost.

Marco ending explained

As the gang conflict escalates and the death toll rises, Tony Issac meets his demise when Marco ensnares him in a 'death chair.' Feeling trapped, Russell seeks the assistance of his older foster brother Cyrus (Kabir Duhan Singh) to seek vengeance. The narrative shifts to the Adattu family estate, where Isha is in labor, prompting George to determine that their home is the safest refuge. On that tragic night, Cyrus, accompanied by his armed associates, invades the Adattu residence, ruthlessly eliminating each family member in a manner so brutal that it compels viewers to avert their gaze. George valiantly defends against the onslaught while Marco stands guard over Isha's room. However, even as innocent children fall prey to Cyrus's malevolence, Marco is compelled to intervene but is ultimately overpowered.

After inflicting severe injuries and fatalities upon every member of the household in front of George and Marco, Cyrus turns his attention to the expectant Isha (a scene that is indeed harrowing to witness). He callously severs the umbilical cord and abducts the newborn baby.

As the final words of George resonate in his mind, Marco rises once more and makes his way to Tony's chemical factory. Chaos erupts as the armed henchmen attempt to restrain the formidable Marco, but their efforts prove futile. Marco breaks free and unleashes a torrent of violence upon the adversaries, resulting in severed heads. He tears through Russell and sets his sights on Cyrus, who precariously holds Victor’s infant in a blood-drenched bundle above a vat of acid. In a decisive moment, Marco eliminates Cyrus and saves the child.

As the credits begin to roll, Marco is seen watching over a young boy at the beach while a procession of cars approaches them. A flicker of dread crosses Marco's face as the boy suddenly disappears from view. Haneef Adeni's film concludes at this juncture, paving the way for a sequel featuring Marco.
