Lyricist and screenwriter Manoj Muntashir expressed his frustration in a tweet after the Skyforce team failed to acknowledge him as the writer of the new song Maaye. On Tuesday, he took to X (formerly Twitter) to issue a warning to the creators behind Skyforce – Jio Studios, Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films, and Saregama Global – about potential legal action.

What made Manoj angry

On Tuesday, Jio Studios dropped a teaser for the song on X. B Praak lent his voice to "Maaye," with Tanishk Bagchi handling the music. The short clip gave credit to the two of them but left out Manoj's name. Still, the Sky Force team made sure to tag him in the caption.

The caption said, "Maaye - A tribute to the brave souls who sacrificed everything for their country. Check out #Maaye, The Anthem of Heroes, dropping tomorrow. #SkyForce hits theaters this Republic Week, on January 24, 2025."

How Manoj reacted

Manoj responded to the post by saying, “Hey @jiostudios, @MaddockFilms, @saregamaglobal, just a heads up. This song isn’t just sung and composed; it’s also written by someone who’s put in a ton of hard work and dedication.”

He continued, “Leaving the writer’s name out of the opening credits is a total slap in the face to the craft and the community. If this isn’t fixed right away, especially with the main song dropping tomorrow, I’m going to distance myself from it and make sure my concerns are heard legally. This is unacceptable. @IPRSmusic.”
