Veteran actor and film director Manoj Kumar passed away at the age of 87 in Mumbai. According to a report from the news agency ANI on Friday morning, he succumbed to his illness at the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital at 4:03 AM.

His remains will be held at his residence in Juhu starting Friday afternoon, allowing industry peers and fans to pay their last respects. The cremation is expected to occur on Saturday.
As reported by ANI, medical reports indicate that the cause of his death was cardiogenic shock resulting from an acute myocardial infarction, a serious heart attack. Additionally, the reports revealed that Manoj had been struggling with decompensated liver cirrhosis in recent months, which had a significant impact on his health.
He was hospitalized on February 21, 2025, after his condition deteriorated. Manoj was particularly renowned for his roles in patriotic films and was affectionately referred to as 'Bharat Kumar'.

In a statement regarding the late actor, filmmaker Ashoke Pandit expressed to ANI, “It is with great sadness that I announce the passing of the legendary Dadasaheb Phalke award recipient, our source of inspiration, and the 'lion' of the Indian film industry, Manoj Kumar Ji.”
“He passed away at Kokilaben Hospital in Andheri after a prolonged period of ill health. This is a significant loss for the industry. Manoj Ji, you will be deeply missed. We had the opportunity to meet him from time to time, and he was always vibrant and cheerful. The entire industry will feel his absence. A remarkable individual and a talented creator like him is irreplaceable in our field.”
