Manoj Bajpayee experienced a remarkable year in 2024, showcasing his talent through a variety of engaging OTT releases across multiple genres. His roles ranged from an investigative journalist in "Despatch" to his return in ZEE's thriller "Silence 2," demonstrating a successful array of films that contributed positively to his career. At the third edition of the OTTplay Awards held in Mumbai on March 22, 2025, he was honoured with the Best Actor (Male) (Popular) award.

In the ZEE5 crime drama "Despatch," Manoj received widespread acclaim for his compelling portrayal of Joy Bag, a crime journalist who undertakes a perilous mission to reveal the hidden truths surrounding the 2G spectrum scandal. His pursuit of truth amidst corruption, threats, and emotional challenges serves as the central theme of this intense crime drama.

This accolade marks another achievement for Manoj Bajpayee, who previously won the Best Actor in a Series (Jury) award for his role in "The Family Man 2" at the OTTplay Awards in 2022.

During the award ceremony, where he was presented the honor by OTTplay CEO Avinash Mudaliar and Sanjay Gupta, and hosted by Aparshakti Khurana and Kubra Sait, Manoj expressed his gratitude, stating, “Thank you so much for this award. I feel honoured tonight.”

Bajpayee received significant recognition last year, earning a special mention at the 70th National Film Awards for his outstanding performance in Gulmohar.

Manoj Bajpayee has showcased a multitude of commendable performances in the OTT arena. His roles in Netflix's Mrs. Serial Killer and ZEE5's Despatch and Silence franchises have established him as a preferred choice for leading streaming services. He stands out as one of the few actors who have successfully navigated various genres in Hindi cinema, having won four National Film Awards for his work in films such as Satya, Bhonsle, Shool, and Gulmohar.

The OTTplay Awards 2025 attracted prominent figures from the Indian OTT industry, celebrating the theme "One Nation, One Award." Notable attendees included Divya Dutta, Kajol, Kani Kasruti, Priyamani, and Rakesh Roshan, all of whom were recognized during the ceremony, which featured celebrities from the Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada film industries.
