Bollywood Stars Honor Legacy of Manmohan Singh Following His Passing at 92

A bunch of Bollywood stars expressed their deep sadness over the passing of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, who passed away at 92 on Thursday. AIIMS New Delhi confirmed that he took his last breath on Thursday night due to health issues related to his age.

Actor-comedian Kapil Sharma took to X to share a nostalgic photo from a past meeting with Manmohan Singh. He expressed, "Today, India mourns the loss of one of its greatest leaders. Dr. Manmohan Singh, the mastermind behind our economic reforms and a true embodiment of integrity and humility, has left us with a legacy filled with progress and hope. His insight, commitment, and vision changed our country for the better. Rest in peace, Dr. Singh. Your impact will always be remembered."
Madhuri Dixit posted a tribute to Manmohan Singh on her Instagram Stories, saying, “Dr. Manmohan Singh's life and dedication to our country showcase true wisdom and grace. His leadership teaches us that quiet determination can achieve great things. He was an extraordinary leader and an even more extraordinary person. My heartfelt condolences to his family and all who loved him. Om Shanti.”
Sunny Deol also expressed his sorrow over Manmohan Singh's passing. He shared a photo of the former prime minister on his Instagram Story, calling him a “visionary leader.”
"I'm really saddened by the loss of Dr. Manmohan Singh, a visionary who significantly influenced India's economic reforms. His wisdom, integrity, and contributions to our nation's progress will always be cherished. Sending my deepest condolences. #RIPDrManmohanSingh," Sunny wrote.
Diljit Dosanjh also honored Manmohan Singh with a picture on his Instagram Stories, captioning it, “Oh Waheguru (folded hands emoji).”
Swara Bhasker took to X to share a photo of Manmohan Singh presenting her with an award, where she wore a white saree. She reflected, “The passing of #ManmohanSingh ji, who oversaw India’s true ‘Acchey Din,’ feels like the end of an era when India was genuinely more democratic, and people felt freer from fear and intolerance. Singh stepped down from the Rajya Sabha earlier this year, wrapping up an impressive 33-year tenure. Manmohan Singh, who hails from Punjab and was born in 1932, held the position of Prime Minister of India for two terms, from 2004 to 2014.
He first took the oath of office in 2004, following Congress' victory in the Lok Sabha elections against the NDA led by Atal Bihari Vajpayee. His second term ran from 2009 to 2014, after which PM Narendra Modi took over in 2014.
