Mandy Moore is among the Hollywood figures who have been affected by the devastating wildfires in Los Angeles, resulting in the loss of her home. According to The Hollywood Reporter, she and her family have sought shelter in the residence of fellow actress Hilary Duff.

Hilary helps out Mandy's brother-in-law

Griffin Goldsmith, a musician and brother-in-law of Mandy, expressed his heartfelt gratitude on Instagram towards Hilary Duff and her husband, Matthew Koma. Griffin, who is also the brother of Mandy's spouse, Taylor Goldsmith, is a member of the band Dawes and recently experienced the loss of his home due to the wildfires in Los Angeles.

He stated, "The situation has been incredibly overwhelming. However, equally overwhelming is the outpouring of love and generosity we have received. Our dear friends @matthewkoma and @hilaryduff have generously initiated a GoFundMe campaign to assist us as we navigate the challenges ahead. Additionally, they are currently providing shelter for my brother’s family. From the very beginning, they have supported my entire family. I will never find the words to express my gratitude adequately. This is the most compassionate gesture one person can extend to another. They are truly the most beautiful and selfless individuals we have ever encountered."

Mandy clapped back at trolls

Griffin expressed his gratitude to all the contributors as he and his wife received $205,000 from the GoFundMe campaign. Previously, Mandy had shared the GoFundMe link on her social media, which led to criticism for not providing financial support to her brother and instead soliciting donations. In response to the negative comments, she addressed the issue in an Instagram Story, stating, "Those questioning whether we are assisting our own family or relying on an arbitrary figure from Google are neither helpful nor empathetic. We are indeed helping. Our friend Matt initiated this GoFundMe, and I am sharing it because many have inquired about how they can assist. We have also suffered a significant loss in a fire. Please respect our situation. No one is compelled to contribute."

Last week, Mandy expressed her feelings of devastation and despair following the rapid spread of the Eaton Fire, which occurred approximately 30 miles east of the Pacific Palisades Fire, affecting her neighbourhood. She disclosed that she had evacuated and was safe with her "children, dogs, and cats." She expressed her gratitude for the support of friends who provided shelter, stating, "I am trying to protect the children from the overwhelming sadness and anxiety I am experiencing. I am praying for everyone in our beautiful city. I am heartbroken over the destruction and loss. I am uncertain if our home has survived. #eatonfire."

Mandy reported that her residence in Altadena, California, was destroyed in the Eaton Fire. Notable figures such as Paris Hilton, Spencer Pratt, Heidi Montag, James Woods, Diane Warren, Cameron Mathison, and Ricki Lake have also lost their homes due to wildfires.

On the professional front, Mandy was last featured in the series Dr. Death, while Hilary's most recent role was in the show How I Met Your Father.
