Actor Manchu Manoj has addressed the recent reports regarding his alleged police custody on Monday. In a video statement, he conveyed his discontent with the challenges he has encountered while advocating for the causes he supports.

What Manchu said

In his remarks, shared by Telugu One on X, Manoj stated: “You have witnessed the events of the past few months, starting from December 2024. I have been advocating for the students and staff at our college. Instead of addressing these issues, my family has become the target. There have been numerous attempts to intimidate me indirectly, hoping to instill fear. I have committed no wrongdoing that would warrant fear. Approximately 32 cases have been filed against me and my wife by various individuals from Delhi, Tirupati, and other locations. There exists only one truth, yet many falsehoods. I stand by my previous statements. My family is accused of employing bouncers to harass college students and others. I have submitted all evidence to the Chandragiri CI.”

‘I went to the station willingly’

He further elaborated, “Those attempting to file complaints are being dismissed for trivial reasons. The police attempted to interrogate us last night at our resort, asserting they were sent by the Chief Minister. When I inquired further, their narrative shifted, claiming they had completed their work for the CM and that I had misunderstood. Consequently, I voluntarily went to the police station to ensure everything was documented. I waited for them to engage with me there, but it appeared that no one was interested in doing so. If such circumstances can befall me, one can only imagine the situation of those I am advocating for.”

In recent months, Manoj has garnered attention due to a public dispute with his father, Mohan Babu. After an eight-year hiatus, he made his return to cinema last year with Karthik Ghattamaneni’s film, Mirai.
