Mammootty is currently enjoying an excellent phase in his acting career. Unlike most of the superstars of his league, the Bramayugam actor has been making some brave choices when it comes to picking his films and characters. As reported earlier, Mammootty is teaming up with writer-director Jithin K Jose for his next outing in Malayalam. The movie, which stars Vinayakan in a pivotal role, started rolling a few weeks back. Interestingly, the details about the megastar’s role in the film have left the cinephiles, excited.
Mammootty to play a serial killer in Jithin K Jose’s film?
As reported earlier, Mammootty is gearing up to play yet another negative-shaded character in the untitled Jithin K Jose film. If the recent updates are to be believed, the megastar’s character in the highly-anticipated film is a serial killer. According to the grapevine, the dark-shaded role is inspired by the real-life serial killer ‘Cyanide’ Mohan aka Mohan Kumar. The infamous criminal, based in Mangalore, killed around 20 women who were looking for suitable partners. The new update has left the cinephiles, highly excited.
For the uninitiated, this infamous crime story has inspired several films and series in the past. The Priya Mani starring crime thriller Cyanide, directed by Rajesh Touchriver, and Dahaad, the Vijay Varma-Sonakshi Sinha starring series which is streaming on Amazon Prime Video, are two of the most popular creations based on this infamous crime story. However, director Jithin K Jose and his team have not reacted to these reports, yet.
Mammootty-Vinayakan starrer: Here’s what we know
As reported earlier, Vinayakan is set to play the role of a police officer, the protagonist, in the highly anticipated film. The makers are yet to finalise the rest of the star cast, of the untitled film. The second schedule of the film recently started rolling in Ernakulam. Sushin Shyam is reportedly roped in to compose the music score. Roby Varghese Raj has joined the team as the director of photography of the film, bankrolled by Mammootty Kampany.
