Mammootty has maintained his dominance in Malayalam cinema for almost forty years, attributed to various factors such as his exceptional acting skills, impressive screen presence, and impactful dialogue delivery. However, dancing is not particularly his strength. Nevertheless, audiences can witness Mammootty performing some dance sequences in the film Dominic and the Ladies' Purse. In discussing his decision to participate in these dance scenes, Mammootty shares his thoughts, while director Gautham Vasudev Menon expresses that it was a moment of great excitement for him as a fan.

Mammootty on dance scenes in Dominic and the Ladies' Purse

At a recent press conference, Mammootty addressed the dance sequences in "Dominic and the Ladies' Purse," revealing his hesitance towards dancing.

"I have not received formal dance training, nor have I attended Kalamandalam. Typically, I am not inclined to dance, but the director encouraged me," Mammootty stated, noting that having already made a commitment, he chose to proceed with the performance.

Nearly three times the content displayed on the screen was present, and I managed to have it reduced, stated the megastar. He also expressed that he accepts full accountability for the outcome, regardless of its quality.

Gautham Vasudev Menon, seated beside his Bazooka co-star, promptly took the microphone and noted that it was a moment of admiration for him as a fan.

Additionally, the acclaimed filmmaker mentioned a specific line from the film where the character Dominic states, "Dance is a weakness for me," emphasizing his insistence on including it in the script.

In the song ‘Ee Rathri,’ Mammootty is featured alongside Gokul Suresh and other young actors on the dance floor. This lively track is performed by Vijay Yesudas, ThirumaLi, Sathyaprakash, and Pavithra Chari.
