Director Arindam Bhattacharya's last film Shibpur which features Swastika Mukherjee and Parambrata Chatterjee received positive reactions from the critics and viewers alike. The director then made another film, Durgapur Junction, with Swastika and Vikram Chatterjee. Meanwhile, Shibpur stirred a lot of controversies before its release. Now, Arindam is set to produce a film with two Bengali icons together.
Mamata Shankar and Victor Banerjee – who have hitherto never teamed up – will be the lead in the film. The title has not been decided yet. assistant Avijit Choudhury, known as Baptan in Tollywood, will direct the film. While talking to the media, Arindam said that the protagonist's appearance demanded aristocracy in the film. According to him, After Soumitra Chatterjee, Victor Banerjee is the one who has the feature. Arindam wondered why Mamata Shankar and Victor Banerjee were never cast together as a couple.
This film, unlike Arindam's other films, is not a thriller. This deals with romance and relationships. Mamata Shankar has recently worked in films like Bijoyar Pore and Pradhan. Victor made a grand comeback with Shiboprosad Mukherjee and Nandita Roy’s Raktabeej.
Victor Banerjee has been living in Mussoorie for a long time. Arindam decided to shoot the film in Uttarakhand. The casting of the new generation actors has not yet been finalized. The shooting will start next year.
