Mallika Sherawat recently returned to the big screen with the Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video. Although the film has been receiving mixed reviews, Mallika was praised for her performance in the Rajkummar Rao and Triptii Dimri starrer. Amid this, the actress opened up about the beauty culture that is done by botox and plastic surgery most of the time and she found it 'very toxic.'

Mallika Sherawat talks about beauty culture

The 47-year-old actress is still one of the fitness and fashion inspirations to the young generation. Speaking to India Today, Mallika Sherawat opened up on beauty culture featuring Botox and plastic surgery.

She said, "I have never done anything. I find this beauty culture very toxic. Self-worth cannot be tied to how youthful your face looks. We will all age; you have natural ways of rejuvenation. I don’t smoke, drink, and have a balanced life."

Mallika Sherawat says nobody will celebrate her downfall in industry

Mallika also discussed that she is confident that in an industry where people often celebrate the downfall of their contemporaries, nobody will get to enjoy her failure, as that is never going to happen.

“It is a very strange thing about our industry that people enjoy the downfall of an icon. It is perhaps natural for them to feel that, but with me, they will never be able to rejoice,” Mallika said, followed by a declaration: “Main thi, main hoon aur main rahungi! (I was, I am, and I will always be here!).”

The actress further added, “Murder was released in 2004, and now it’s 2024; it’s been 20 years. Big studios claim that in seven years, the tide changes, so I have been here for decades." 

She said that the newcomers who are basking in their so-called claim to stardom and challenged that she will meet them in 2044, 20 years later with a face free of makeup, plastic surgery, or botox.
