Malavika Mohanan Spills the Secret: Almost Cast Opposite Prabhas in This Film!

Actor Malavika Mohanan is poised to make her Telugu film debut in Maruthi’s upcoming project, The Raja Saab, featuring Prabhas. In a recent interview with India Today, she shared that although this marks her first collaboration with Prabhas, there was an earlier opportunity for them to work together on a different film, which ultimately did not materialize.

Malavika Mohanan was previously considered for another film starring Prabhas. When asked about this, she disclosed that she was in discussions to appear in Prashanth Neel’s Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire.
She stated, “There were talks regarding Salaar (2023). While discussions occurred, they did not progress as expected, which left me disappointed since such opportunities are rare. Interestingly, a few months later, The Raja Saab came my way.”
In regard to her role in The Raja Saab, Malavika mentioned that she has several ‘really cool scenes’ and a character that is ‘present throughout the film.’ She expressed, “Everything seemed to align perfectly, and I have always aspired to work with Prabhas. I am a huge fan of Baahubali.”

Discussing her Telugu debut with Hindustan Times last year, she remarked, “The Raja Saab has elements of both a romantic comedy and a horror comedy. I was eager to find the right project to enter the Telugu film industry, and landing one where my character plays a significant role is a true blessing. The film is a complete entertainer, and we are currently halfway through the shooting process.”
She further added, “Prabhas has been incredibly generous with food… a lot, actually. (laughs) Anyone who has worked with him can attest to his kindness. He often sends an abundance of food, not just a simple dish like biryani or chicken curry, but rather 10-12 large containers filled with enough to feed a village. It is also the most delicious food I have ever tasted.”
In addition to The Raja Saab, Prabhas is set to appear in Fauji and will have a cameo in Kannappa. Malavika, who was last seen in Yudhra, will also feature in the Tamil film Sardar 2.
