Majaa Talkies, the Kannada counterpart of The Kapil Sharma Show, is making a comeback this weekend after being off the air for several years. During this hiatus, showrunner and host Srujan Lokesh redirected his efforts towards other programs such as Nannamma Superstar and Raja Rani. While Srujan continues to lead the show, this new edition of Majaa Talkies will feature a largely new cast and a slight shift in concept, relocating the setting to an apartment complex.

Maja Talkies is set to make its debut on February 1 at 9 PM on Colors Kannada, and it will also be accessible on JioCinema, occupying the time slot previously held by the weekend episodes of Bigg Boss Kannada. An additional episode will air on February 2, creating a weekend special that Kannada viewers have eagerly anticipated.

Although Srujan has remained discreet regarding the upcoming season's content, the alteration in the cast suggests significant possibilities. Previously, the cast primarily consisted of members from his onscreen wife Rani’s (Shwetha Chengappa) family. He mentioned to OTTPlay, “We can now introduce my family,” and also indicated that the team intends to honour the late Aparna, a vital contributor to Maja Talkies. “We will celebrate her contribution to the show,” he stated.

The inaugural episode of Majaa Talkies will not only introduce the key participants of the show but will also feature actor Sharan alongside his collaborator, Tarun Kishore Sudhir, as special guests. Srujan has remarked, “Sharan sir has been fortunate for the show, and we have previously launched with him as well,” providing limited insight ahead of the premiere.

In addition to Srujan, Kuri Pratap and Vishwa are the only returning members for the new season. They will be joined by a diverse lineup that includes Chandraprabha, Priyanka (known for Agnisakshi), Thukali Santhosh, Vinod Gobaragala, Priyanka Kamath, Shivu, Mimicry Gopi, and Yogaraj Bhat. Notably, filmmaker Yogaraj Bhat will take over the hosting duties from Indrajit Lankesh.
