Mahira Khan got married to Salim Karim in a stunning destination wedding in Pakistan last October. She shared a lovely video from the event, showing her walking down the aisle with her son Azlan. In a recent chat with BBC Asian Network, Mahira got a bit teary-eyed reminiscing about that unforgettable day, expressing how ‘very proud’ she is of her child.

Mahira's comments.

When Mahira was asked about her choice to share such a personal moment with her fans, she expressed, “It felt like all the tough times I went through were somehow balanced out. Let me rephrase that… for every time I showed kindness or took care of those around me, it was like the universe came together and rewarded me, saying, 'This is your blessing for all the good you've done.' That’s how I felt in that moment. I kept saying Alhamdulillah. It was a huge deal for me because I always pictured my life as just me and Azlan…”

She continued, “This was a monumental moment. I was so proud of my child… I really wanted him to walk me down the aisle, and he did!”

Here are some extra details.

Mahira, who was once married to Ali Askari and has a son with him, recently tied the knot with a Pakistani business tycoon at the Pearl Continental Hotel in Bhurban. She shared a short clip from her cozy wedding on Instagram, which she later deleted, and referred to her husband as ‘My Shehzada, Salim (my prince)’ in the caption. Mahira made a breathtaking entrance, matching outfits with her son, who stayed by her side throughout the ceremony.

She made her Bollywood debut in 2017 alongside Shah Rukh Khan in the film Raees. Mahira was previously married to Ali Askari; they got married in July 2007 but separated in 2015. They have a son named Azlan, born in 2009.
