Namrata Shirodkar shared a photograph on Instagram on Monday featuring her daughter Sitara Ghattamaneni alongside Avantika Vandanapu, Mahesh Babu’s co-star from the film Brahmotsavam. The image captures both Avantika and Sitara beaming as they pose together.

In her Instagram stories, Namrata tagged both girls while posting the picture, captioning it with, “Happy shining girls (sparkle emojis).” Avantika was attired in a maroon kurta and pyjama, complemented by a bindi, while Sitara sported a casual outfit of jeans and a t-shirt. It remains unclear whether the two met in Hyderabad or in the United States, where Avantika resides. Additionally, Mahesh babu and Namrata’s son, Gautham Ghattamaneni, is currently attending college in the US.

Avantika, who portrayed Mahesh’s younger cousin in the 2016 film, expressed her excitement about her debut in Tollywood during an interview with 123 Telugu last February, stating, “Having my first opportunity in Tollywood with Mahesh was nothing short of a dream come true. Working as a child artist in India, particularly in my mother tongue, allowed me to feel at ease with the prospect of pursuing a career in entertainment from a young age.” Brahmotsavam, directed by Srikanth Addala, marked her entry into the industry.

Recent work

In terms of her recent work, Avantika has appeared in Telugu films such as Manamantha, Premam, and Agnyaathavaasi, before featuring in the 2020 series Diary of a Future President and the 2021 Disney film Spin. She has also acted in American productions including Moxie, Senior Year, and Mean Girls, as well as in series like Big Girls Don’t Cry. Most recently, she was seen in Tarot and Big Girls Don’t Cry in 2024, and she is set to appear in Ballerina Overdrive and A Crown of Wishes.

Mahesh was last featured in the 2024 Sankranthi release Guntur Kaaram, alongside Sreeleela, Ramya Krishnan, Prakash Raj, and Jayaram. He is currently filming for a project directed by SS Rajamouli, with Priyanka Chopra rumored to be his co-star.
