Aamir Khan's son, Junaid Khan, embarked on his acting career with the Netflix film Maharaj in 2024. Following this, the emerging actor is now looking forward to the release of his debut film on the big screen, titled Loveyapa. He has been actively promoting this romantic comedy alongside his co-star Khushi Kapoor for a considerable period. In a recent interview, the film's director, Advait Chandan, expressed great pride in Junaid's public appearances, especially considering that he identifies as an introvert.

In a discussion with Mid-Day, Advait Chandan expressed his support for Junaid Khan, the lead actor of his film Loveyapa. The director emphasized that it requires considerable courage to face an audience that is often quick to criticize and ridicule.

He (Junaid) continues to perform that same step repeatedly, driven by his passion for encouraging people to attend theaters. I take great pride in that young man. It is relatively simple to take the stage or appear in a video when one possesses dancing talent. However, it requires significant bravery to stand on stage and execute that hook step when one is not a skilled dancer," he expressed to the tabloid.

Advait also reflected on his initial uncertainty regarding Junaid as the lead actor in his directorial project. He recounted Aamir Khan's response to his doubts, stating, "I approached Aamir sir and mentioned, ‘I have been offered a film featuring Junaid and Khushi. I am contemplating accepting the project, but I am uncertain if Junaid is the right fit for the role.’ He replied, ‘Go ahead and take the film. If you believe Junaid is not suitable for the part, feel free to let him go. I will not object or impose any pressure on you.’"

Aamir let Advait decide whatever was right for the film. The actor also advised the filmmaker to do readings and hang out with the young actors. And if felt they weren't right by the end of the process, he was suggested to let go off them.

Loveyapa release date

Produced by AGS Entertainment and Phantom Studios, Loveyapa is scheduled for a theatrical release on February 7, 2025. After its theatrical run, the romantic comedy will mostly have its OTT premiere on Disney+ Hotstar.
