On Sunday, as Ranbir Kapoor wowed the crowd at the IFFI session in Goa, production on his next film, Love & War, was underway in Mumbai. As per the latest reports, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the film's director, shot a complex scene in Studio 2 in Goregaon's Film City over the weekend, starring Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal. The two main characters will spend the next seven days filming on a disco set.

Mid Day reported that both Bhansali's grandeur and his attention to detail are well-known. The informants' claims that the set is a mere spectacle as it is, therefore, not shocking. An '80s disco inspired the set, according to a crew member who worked on it. A nostalgic and mystical atmosphere was what Bhansali was going for. Old-school music, including Laila main Laila, plays in the background as about 30 troops enjoy themselves on the dance floor. Meanwhile, the characters of Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal engage in a heated exchange, revealing their emotional struggles.

Alia will dedicate the next ten days to Love & War, her second film with the director after Gangubai Kathiawadi (2022). According to an insider, the actor has immersed herself in rehearsals, fully committed to embodying her character in Love & War. Meanwhile, Alpha will beckon her back in early December when the squad begins its next schedule.

Over the weekend, at IFFI 2024, while talking about reuniting with Bhansali nearly two decades later, Ranbir stated that he is giddy with excitement and called the filmmaker his godfather. Bhansali taught the actor everything about acting and filmmaking.

Ranbir went on to say that the filmmaker remains unchanged as he puts forth a lot of time and effort. His films consume all of his thoughts, and all Bhansali wants to do is talk about the character he wants to create and try something new.

Love & War is set for a 2026 release on the big screen.
