Varun Dhawan & Pooja Hegde Commence Filming in Rishikesh?

When this project was announced last year, it was reported that Varun Dhawan and David Dhawan were joining forces once more for a comedy-drama that reflects David Dhawan’s distinctive filmmaking style. The film’s title itself hints at this, resonating with the lighthearted entertainment that the veteran director is known for. Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai draws inspiration from the well-known song "Ishq Sona Hai" from Biwi No. 1, which starred Salman Khan and Sushmita Sen. Recent updates indicate that the team has begun filming today in Rishikesh.

As per a report from Pinkvilla, an industry insider disclosed that Varun Dhawan and Pooja Hegde will be in Rishikesh for a three-day shoot, during which they plan to film a river rafting scene. The film is being produced by Ramesh Taurani, and there are indications that another female lead may be added to the cast, with Mrunal Thakur being considered for the role.

During discussions about the film last year, insiders associated with the project indicated that the unconventional title reflects David Dhawan’s artistic vision, characterizing the film as an entertaining family comedy. “David Dhawan has developed a unique and innovative concept and is optimistic about recapturing the charm of comedies on the big screen once more,” stated a source.

Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai commenced production in July 2024.

The film initially started filming in July 2024 and has now resumed its production. “Varun is currently on set with Maniesh Paul and Kubbra Sait. The entire cast will unite as filming continues.
